Volunteer Opportunities

The Skyline PTA has many opportunities for parents, friends, and the community to become involved.  There are events that take place in the evening, projects that can be done at home--whatever your time allows, it’s up to you!

 
REFLECTIONS PROGRAM:  This program is sponsored by the National PTA and gives students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition.  The primary goal is to encourage kids and their creativity, in areas of visual arts, literature, musical composition and photography.  Help us promote this program, collect entries, judging, etc.  Program is completed around November.
 
WALK-A-THON:  Help plan this fun and energetic event.  It is a way to raise money but also promote good health habits.  Help create advertising materials, collect & count contributions brought in from students, hand out water & refreshments and cheer the kids on!  This could be during the school day or an after-school event.
 
BINGO NIGHT:  What a fun family night this is!  Helping sell bingo cards, be our “caller”, sell refreshments, put together the prizes, set up or clean up.  Just join us, you’ll have fun!  This event is usually held in November or December.
 
HOLIDAY CRAFT DAYS:  Plan and organize craft days for students to make a holiday craft for their family members or friends.  Help with organizing crafts, setting up for the event, assist students and craft stations, clean up.  Event held in December. 

TALENT SHOW:  What an awesome event this has become at Skyline!  Be a part of the committee that puts the night together! Sit in on the auditioning process, serve refreshments, make posters & signs, set up and clean up.  However you can help, you’ll love being a part of this!
 
 RESTAURANT TAKEOVERS:  Skyline volunteers and staff ‘takeover’ a local restaurant (McDonald’s, Joeseppi’s, Roundtable).  The PTA earns a portion of the sales during the event.  Possibly put together raffle baskets to sell during the evening.  These are fun events!
 
CAMPBELLS LABELS and BOX TOPS:  Help in collecting Campbells and Box Tops labels to earn great items for our school.  Run a fun class competition to encourage students to turn them in.  Count and mail labels in.  Great project to do from home!                                    
E SCRIP (Safeway Cards): Help educate parents and staff on how the school can earn money simply by shopping at Safeway and using their Safeway Club Card.  Collect this information and register information on-line.  Computer and internet access is needed.
 
FAMILY FUN NIGHTS:  Put together a fun family night for the whole family to attend!  Movie Night, Dance, Carnival, Ethnic Night, etc.  Get creative!  Your help would be needed with planning, decorations, set up, clean up, etc.
