We currently have 85 members. This is 4 more members than we had last year...for the whole year!

There is still plenty of time for you and family members to join. We have one member living in Hawaii. So ask Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents. You never know who would like to support your child's school.

Why should you join?

PTA is the largest network of parents in the nation!  Joining the PTA gives you a voice in determining the PTA’s programs & activities.  You may join just to show your support of the PTA organization; there is no time commitment required. By joining you create a HUGE legislative voice for our children. 

PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers, and others who have a special interest in children, families and schools.  PTAs meet together, study problems, support teachers, volunteer in schools, fund school programs, attend workshops, and become informed on issues regarding children and youth.  Your membership dues support these activities.  We are part of the largest child-advocacy organization in the state-- over 150,000 strong across Washington.  As a result, PTA members have the opprotunity to become better parents, teachers and citizens.

Membership cost is $10 per individual or $20 per family of 2.  This year, our goal is to have 100 members!  This is less than 1/3 of our entire student body.  WE CAN DO IT!  Even if you don't have time to volunteer, you can still help tremendously simply by becoming a member.  Other family members can join too.

Where Do My Membership Fees Go?

Of the $10 membership fee that is  collected, $9 goes to the City, State, and National PTA's! Membership is definately not a money maker for the local unit.

On the State Level, membership revenues break down roughly as follows:

• 33% to Membership (technical assistance, communications, programs and awards)
• 16% to Convention (facility costs, speakers)
• 14% to Community Involvement (representation to interest groups, grants and scholarships)
• 11% to Education (leadership development, conferences)
• 10% to Management (building maintenance, postage, supplies)
• 8% to Advocacy (legislative committee, advocacy resources, Focus Day)
• 8% to Governance (Board of Directors meetings, statewide representation)

At the Skyline level, the dues help to fund various projects such as sponsoring an art teacher, field trips, family fun nights, field day, science fair, etc.
